Dimitar Berbatov’s poked volley earned the breakthrough with 20 minutes to go .

Ronaldo rediscovered his shooting form as another strike was drilled past the post. United were well in the ascendancy and it was no surprise that the long-awaited, long-overdue breakthrough came on 69 minutes. Carrick’s cross, after good work from Park, pinballed around in the area before Berbatov poked the ball home.

Liga de Quito 0 - Manchester United 1

Match-winner Wayne Rooney hailed United’s global following as thousands of Reds watched United become world-beaters against Liga de Quito both in the Yokohama International Stadium, on television and via ManUtd.com’s coverage.

“We’ve been amazed by the amount of fans over here,” he admitted after the game. “So many have travelled from England and there are also thousands here in Japan. We’re the best team in the world and they’re the best fans in the world.”

Rooney was ecstatic at scoring the goal that confirmed United’s position as the greatest team on Earth - his third goal in less than one and a half games. “It’s fantastic, I was really happy to get the goal for us," he said."It’s a great achievement for us, and it’s something we’ve worked very hard for. We’re delighted to be world champions.”

United’s no.10 gave Liga de Quito’s goalkeeper Jose Cevallos a torrid evening, especially in the first half, but Wayne admitted the game was made a lot harder in early in the second period by Nemanja Vidic’s sending off.“It was a really tough game for us after going down to ten men," added Rooney. "They had more possession but we defended well to win it."

Rooney is hitting top form at a great time for United and after receiving what looks like a giant key as FIFA's Man of the Match - he was also Player of the Tournament - Wayne will surely unlock more defences back in England. Opposition goalkeepers should expect an unhappy new year.

Liga de Quito vs Manchester United

Wayne Rooney believes victory in Sunday's Club World Cup final could boost the Reds chances of silverware for the remainder of the season.

Sir Alex's men take on Liga de Quito in Yokohama for the right to be crowned world champions after seeing off Gamba Osaka in the semi-final. Rooney, who came off the bench to score twice in the 5-3 win, is determined to add another winners' medal to his collection and in turn send out a strong message to the footballing world.

"We are in quite a strong position in the league and if we can go back as champions of the world it would be a big boost for us and a platform for the second half of the season," he insisted. "It would also send out a powerful message.

"It had never been in my mind about winning the world championship - when I joined United the targets were the obvious ones like the Premier League and the Champions league. But the chance to play in this competition has really excited me.

"I would love to have a complete set of winners' medals. I’ve got the Champions League, two Premier League titles, the Carling Cup and the Community Shield already. I was disappointed to lose the Super Cup earlier in the season and I have lost two FA Cup Finals, so the Club World Cup medal is something I'm desperate to get because who knows when you get the chance again."

Aside from his own personal desire to claim the world title, winning it for the supporters is also uppermost in the 23-year-old's mind."Our fans who were here for the semi-final were singing ‘Champions of England, Champions of Europe’ and it would sound even better for them to add ‘Champions of the world,'" said Rooney. "So we want to win it for them and ourselves."

8th Nov-Its been a week now since my parent involved in a car accident. Alhamdullillah, my mom was being discharged from KB hospital at 12pm. To all my friends and relatives, I would like to thanks for visited my parent at the ward. All my family members hope and pray to Allah that both of my parent get well soon and back to their normal life, amin......

Banyak patients going in and out from the ward, mostly because of appendix. Is it because of melamine??? mmmm.....so make sure your food not from China. The youngest patient was 11 years old. Sian ah....:(

Tonight, there will be a big match in Barclays Premier League between Arsenal against the reigning champion Manchester United huhuhuhu....gerenti MU manang nie....hahaha.....my prediction is 0-2 go MU...!!!!

Bad Day

On 1st Nov. 2008, time : 2-3 pm, my parent unfortunately involved in a car accident. This happened just in front of KB hospital. Both of my lovely parent got stitches and my mom got fracture at her right leg. I feel shock when my sis called me, gtau yang my parent had accident. I was in Gadong kan ke expo computer at the mall, but patah balik ke KB hospital. Now, my parent di wad 3(male) & 4(female). When I saw them, I couldn't stop my tears coming out from my eyes. Alhamdullilah, bapa n mama sadar sudah that time. The car probably "write-off", I haven't seen it yet, cause what I heard from my bro, the damage was really bad...but it doesn't really matter for me, as long as my parent ok that's more important. I pray to Allah so that my parent get well soon...amin....
